Award-winning Shoalhaven City Turf Club is proudly located on the beautiful South Coast of NSW and is renowned as the friendliest club on the South Coast. With 13 race meetings held annually, the Club attracts racegoers, owners, trainers and visitors from across the Shoalhaven, South Coast and beyond. Our race meetings offer an exciting day out, combining quality racing with hospitality, entertainment and the welcoming atmosphere that SCTC is known for.

Located approximately two hours south of Sydney, the Club is easily accessible and enjoys strong support from metropolitan, provincial and country trainers. This combination of location, quality racing and community spirit makes Shoalhaven City Turf Club a unique venue within the NSW racing landscape.

Archer Racecourse

Archer Racecourse is located just 5km south of the Shoalhaven River and provides a picturesque setting surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens and expansive grounds.

The racecourse features both grass and sand tracks, which are used for training and has a proud connection to Australian racing history. The course is named after Archer, trained by Etienne de Mestre at nearby Terrara, who made history by winning the first and second Melbourne Cups.

Shoalhaven City Turf Club has called Archer Racecourse home since 1978, following its earlier operations at Worrigee. Today, the Club continues to build on this proud history while providing a modern and welcoming destination for racing and events.

Nowra Cup

The Club's signature event on the racing calendar is the Nowra Cup, held annually in December and a highlight of the Shoalhaven racing calendar. Featuring a Showcase race, the event attracts racegoers and visitors from throughout the region and provides an exciting celebration of racing, hospitality and the Shoalhaven community.
